Happy Friday ... and Help Wanted

Just taking a break from packing to let you know I'm still here .... surrounded by clutter and boxes, but I'm still here!

One of the best things about our new home is that I finally get my own craft room.... yay! I am so excited to have a room dedicated solely to sewing and crafting. I am already thinking of ways to decorate and organize the room.

Do any of you have any tips you can share with me about organizing the space?  How do you store your fabric? I have an armoire that I can put in the room that I was thinking about using for my fabric storage. I bought some comic book boards and was planning on wrapping the fabric around them as shown here.

I'm going to need a desk and maybe a nicer sewing table than the fold-up table I am currently using! I think I might browse the thrift stores for those.

I'd appreciate any and all suggestions you can give me for organizing and decorating my new sewing space!

Have a great weekend.

Hi Sandy, you will love having a craft room. I just got my own room for crafting last year and it has made such a difference for me. I use an old dining room hutch for my fabric. I had my husband put up shelves in the old closet are for craft books and I use a countertop that was a desk in my son's room for my sewing surface. A good friend gave me a small bathroom vanity that I use under one side of the countertop for storage. Pop on over to my blog and go back to last fall to see pictures of what I am talking about if you want. I found that putting it together was fun and helped me make it more efficient. My favorite feature is the ironing board cupboard my husband made to match the other cupboards he constructed for me. Have fun. Nancy

How fabulous to have a craft room to your very self. Heaven! Thanks so much for your kind words about my applique tutorial. I really appreciate it!
